Water is flow, and sound is movement. In “Boat Piece II” Fabian Gutscher combined both. Long piano wires with attached weights were let into the water and connected to a wooden rowboat. The slow movement of the rowing agitated the strings and the boat started to resonate in low frequencies. The resulting sounds have been sent back to the audience at the shore over wireless headphones. An intimate exploration of slow movements, the chaotic sounds of the water flow and the comfort of the repetition.
